Three events out of five is heading in the right direction at Lebanon Valley Dragway in West Lebanon, NY from Wednesday, May 13 through Sunday, May 17, 2026. If Mother Nature would please start being nice to us, we could get a few more in. Upcoming forecasts leave a lot to be desired, and the predictions are far from complete and precise. As anyone knows Lebanon Valley, the area has its own weather vortex which screws with even the best forecasts.
Starting the week, there were hopes that the first Wednesday night would be able to get in. That didn’t happen. The Friday track rental unfortunately had to be cancelled as the rain continued into the morning making it impossible to dry the track in time to get the event in.

Fortunately, the drifting event scheduled for Friday evening, which runs rain or shine, was able to get in the books with a successful night of some awesome drifting. Check out some of their videos at Lebanon Valley Drift on Facebook. Their next event is Friday, June 12 if you ever want to check it out.
That brings us to Saturday. With an awesome turnout and many clubs and classes it was jammed packed with racing. The Northeast Pro Stock Sleds held their first meet of the year, completing day one of two. The All-Star Stock/Super Stock Association held their first event of the season and it was the first Port A Tree 1/8 mile Gamblers races. We almost got all the racing in against the time line before the speedway began their evening program but had to hold the remainder of the racing for the All Stars until Sunday and cut the gamblers races short due to a couple of unexpected track clean up that delayed racing.

The Northeast Pro Stock Sleds were able to get the finals completed in their first race though. Ronny Aylward of Farmington, NH defeated Joseph Garbus of Terryville, CT in the final. Joshua Hoxie of Winsted, CT finished his day in the semi-finals.
Sunday was blessed with sunshine and warmer weather and for some a bit of their first sunburn of the season for the Summit ET Points race sponsored by A&C Performance. Reminder, there is sunscreen available in the Novelty store in the first floor of the tower in case you forgot it at home. With Pro seeing over 90 cars first round and Super over 60, it was going to be a great day of racing. A reminder to those who forgot, this year on the points races, we are offering first round buy-backs in both Super and Pro for $50 and $40 respectively. This is your time to see our track manager, Wayne Delmonte at work at the back of the staging lanes.
At the beginning of Round 2 all those wishing to participate in the buy back are called to the lanes where they will be met by Wayne Delmonte to collect your money. All the buy backs will run each other at the beginning of the round followed by the round one winners. Any points accumulated will cease for those who buy back after round one but they will be running for the money and trophies.

In Super Eliminator, Mark Beaton of Torrington, CT took the trophy when he defeated Richie Williams of Westbury, NY. William Blaker III of New Rochelle, NY finished in the semi-finals.

Joe Ortreger of Salt Point, NY took the top honors in Pro Eliminator when he defeated Lenny Moore Jr of Fort Edward, NY. Nic Iwanec Jr of North Haven, CT and Jonathan Gagnon of Pleasant Valley, CT finished in the semi-finals.

Jeff Tisdale of Reddick, FL defeated Louie Supczak of Ware, MA in the final of Motorcycle/Sled ET. Kim Kiniry of Saugerties, NY and Francis Supczak of Ware, MA finished in the semi-finals.

Giuseppie Porfilio of East Longmeadow, MA defeated Tom Foster of Cortlandt Manor, NY in the final of Junior Dragsters. Mason Spinelli of Latham, NY finished his day in the semi-finals.

Colin Morin of Chicopee, MA defeated John Couture of Manchester, CT in the final of Junior Street. Marianna Barbagallo of Bristol, CT finished her first race in the semi-finals.
In Open Trophy, Chuck Geroux of Greenwich, NY defeated Jeff C
ross of Nassau, NY in the final round. Zachary Kline of New Lebanon, NY and Aidan Baker of Cumberland, RI finished their day in the semi-finals.

In Pro Stock Sleds, Day 2 of their competition, a common denominator took first place once again when Ronny Aylward of Farmington, NH defeated John Davis, Jr of Fort Edward, NY. Joseph Garbus of Terryville, CT finished his second day in the semi-finals.

D.J. Pires of Somerset, MA took top honors in the finalization of the All-Star Stock/Super Stock Association race when he defeated Bob Moran of East Falmouth, MA in the final. Eric Merryfield of Andover, MA finished his day in the semi-finals.
Those looking for something to do this weekend, on Friday we start off with an open test session which you can pre-register for on www.dragway.com up until Thursday at 5pm or you can wait until Friday and show up and pay a bit more at the gate. Check the website for details on upcoming events.
Just a reminder about the weather. We do not cancel on the predictions of weather. Remember, we have our own weather vortex in the valley that seems to not behave with what is predicted. We do our best to make sure that you can plan accordingly. Any updates will be posted on the dragway Facebook page, the dragway website or you may sign up for rained out texts and emails (look on the website for rainedout.com)
Happy racing! Hope to see you soon.
