April 30, 2022- Racers from around the Northeast and Canada visited Lebanon Valley Dragway for a weekend that went from cold and blustery to a beautiful spring day to compete for top honors in the NHRA Sportsman categories.
Albeit a smaller turnout than one would have liked to see, the racers in attendance during this early spring event that hasn’t been held at Lebanon Valley in years put on a great show and were able to complete the event on Saturday, giving them the opportunity to have some testing on Sunday or join in a bracket gamblers race.
The regular racers from Lebanon Valley who participated in the event dominated in many of the categories, some coming up with their first wins. Congratulations to one and all.
Grant Nichols S. from Marlborough, CT took top honors over Danny Bisbano or Buchanan, NY in Super Comp.
Jerry Pierce of Albany, NY took the top spot in Super Gas over Ted Leahy of Jefferson, MA.
David Pilbin of Norfolk, CT took top spot over Drew Wonderly of Hurley, NY in Super Street.
Louis Gill of Quebec, QC took the victory over Gregg Sutherland of Chicopee, MA in Super Stock.
Jim Penta of Johnston, RI defeated Angelo DiTocco of Mahopac, NY in Stock Eliminator.
Richie Gauruder of Windsor Locks, CT defeated Doug Bussa of South Glastonbury, CT in the final of Top Sportsman.
Ray Stanton of Poughkeepsie, NY defeated Frank Genovesi of Somers, NY in the final of Top Dragster.
A big thank you to all that attended and worked to make the event successful.
Mark your calendars when the Northeast Division comes to town on June 9-10, 2022 with the NHRA Northeast Divisional Regional Event when the weather should be much warmer and competition will be just as fierce when we are joined with Top Alcohol Dragsters and Top Alcohol Funny Cars along with Competition Eliminator..
