There was a busy weekend at Lebanon Valley Dragway starting on Friday, September 15, 2023 with a test session sponsored by ScottieWheels and Ralph Miolla. There was some great side by side 1/8 mile street action with some fast cars running under the lights. They will be having a main event with two days of racing coming up on Friday, September 29 and Saturday, September 30.
On Saturday, September 16, there was some great racing with the Port-A-Tree Gamblers races on the 1/8 mile as well as Super Street 10.90 action when the North East Super Street Association took to the track for day 1 of their 2 day event on the quarter mile.
In the Non-Electronic Gamblers 1/8 mile race, Brandon Karaguezien of Waltham, MA took the victory over Paul Lattarulo of South Windsor, CT. Russ Wilber of Ghent, NY lost in the semi-finals.
In the Electronic Gamblers 1/8 mile race, Shawn Nichols of Marlborough, CT took the victory over Neil Jamieson with Terry Howard finishing in the semi-finals.
Day one of the NESSA Super Street 10.90 race was won by Ray Butler of Enfield, CT over Mike Falcone of Wolcott, CT. Frank Volpe of Poughkeepsie, NY and Karl Wright of East Longmeadow, MA finished in the semi-finals.
Sunday, September 17, 2023 started out as a great day for racing only to end when Mother Nature thought it would be a fine joke and open the skys towards the end of the day halting the last couple of rounds of Pro and Super Eliminator. Going into round 6 of Super Pro, Dan Caissie, Walter Zalak III and Grant Nichols Sr were left to split the prize money at the end of the day. In Pro Eliminator, Dale Sheak and Ben Shea were heading into round 7, the final round when racing was washed out.
There were some winners on the day that completed their racing program including the Motorcycle/Sleds. Adam Sheran of Chester, MA took home the NHRA.TV challenge trophy when he defeated Louie Supczek of Ware, MA. Joe DePietro of East Harford, CT and Kim Kiniry of Saugterties, NY lost in the semi-finals.
Ava Eckert of Wallingford, CT took home the Junior Dragster Wally for the NHRA.TV Challenge when she won over Zach Zibella of Hudson, NY. Michael Porfilio of East Longmeadow, MA and Haven Spring of Wetherfield, CT lost in the semi-finals.
Wayne Daury of New Lebanon, NY defeated Steve Trembley of Ludlow, MA in the final of Open Trophy. Pete Wekerle of Patterson, NY lost in the semi-finals.
In the final of the day 2 race of the North East Super Street Association, Drew Wonderly of Hurley, NY defeated Laura LeQue of Troy, NY. Frank Volpe of Poughkeepsie, NY and Bill Arpine of Hamden, CT lost in the semi-finals.
