The first of the eighth mile gamblers race Port-A-Tree Series was held at Lebanon Valley Dragway on Saturday, May 13, 2023. One couldn't ask for a day with nicer weather to kick off the first of a special monthly free point series where at the end of the season the top two in the electronics and non-electronics classes receive a special Port-A-Tree practice tree.
Tom Flemke Jr of East Hampton, CT kicked off his season with a win over Brian Hansbury of Ballston Spa NY in the Electronics Gamblers. Ray Stanton of Poughkeepsie, NY and Dave McLellan of Plainville, CT finished in the semi-finals.
Sammy Alleshouse of Greenwich, NY hit the season off right when he defeated Brian Ouillette of Schenectady, NY in the Non-Electronics Gamblers. Justin Bruso of Southbridge, MA and Matt Ibbitson of Old Saybrook, CT finished in the semi-finals.
The second race of the NODRAMA (Northeast Old Drag Racers And Musclecar Association) Season was held with quite a finish. Bob Rizzo of Hyde Park, NY took the when over Ritchie DeGraff of Woodstock, NY in the final. Bra Boswell of Morrisonville, NY lost in the semi-finals. The next race will be held on Saturday, May 27.
