Bring in July with the Night of Fire at Lebanon Valley Dragway

Join us at Lebanon Valley Dragway on Friday, July 1, 2022 for an amazing night of explosive fireworks and heart pounding action when the Valley of Speed warms things up and is invaded by Rick ‘Hollywood’ Kopp and his Bone Shaker Jet Truck, Ernie Bogue’s Beast from the East jet dragster and Hanna Motorsports jet cars Eastern Raider, First Strike and Top Secret.

Accompanying the jets will be 200 mph wild and crazy nostalgia funny cars who will lay down the rubber and burn up the strip along with the Heartbeat High Wheelstander, who will shoot sparks down the quarter mile while driving on the rear wheels of this high flying pick up truck.

A special guest will make an appearance too!! Finke Equipment’s Top Alcohol Dragster piloted by Jackie Fricke and crewed by the area’s own John Finke, will be there to make ground shaking passes down the quarter mile at 275+ mph.

Joining the stars of the show will be Lebanon Valley’s own racers showing what the drags are like bracket racing style. Bracket racing is where one vehicle gets a calculated head start with the use of a time delayed handicap that is entered into the timing system. The Christmas tree (starting device) will be delayed on one side based on what elapsed time the driver estimates the car will run. The driver indicates what their estimated time is on the side of their vehicle and the computer does the rest. So instead of spacing cars by physical car lengths, the faster competitor gets held on the starting line until their lights come down indicating, it’s time to go!

Lebanon Valley Dragway will present their best drivers in Junior Dragsters, which are half-scaled long, narrow cars, a smaller version of the bigger dragster, piloted by children ages 6 to 17; our super eliminator racers which are door cars and dragsters, launched at the start by electronic timing boxes which can run as fast as 6.90 seconds at 200+ mph; our pro eliminator racers, often referred to as foot brake racers, competing with their, muscle and street cars of all years and makes; and lastly motorcycles and sleds (aka snowmobiles, which aren’t for just snow any more).

As a special treat, spectators will have the opportunity to get close and personal with all of the racers and the cars with free access to the pit area.

Tickets will be available at the gate the day of the event. Concession stands will be open to serve the areas best fries, food and beverages. The novelty booth will be open to purchase your favorite Lebanon Valley memorabilia. No reserved seating. Handicap parking and seating available. Adults $25. Kids 10 & under $10.

The front gate will open at 3pm. Time trials will begin for the bracket racers at 5:00pm with the show cars making their appearance at 7:00pm.
