Over 250 Cars, Father’s Day Racing, and a Packed Weekend Ahead

Starting line crew members are always doing something, from checking cars to clean ups. We decided to add a touch of humor, wearing colorful tutus as they sweep up spills on the dragway even if AI had to help with the costumes. Seriously. Great job to the crew!!!

We did it! Well… kind of. On Friday, June 19, 2026 Lebanon Valley Dragway held a  track rental hosted by one of our Matco Tools representatives. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t with us for the entire event and a few were able to make passes before the dreaded “R” word showed up and washed out the event. The event was moved to Friday, July 31^st as a rain date/make up event. So mark your calendars.

Saturday was a great day of racing for the Orient Express Bikes in the Valley, the junior dragster summer series and the Port-A-Tree 1/8 mile gamblers races.

Let me clarify something for everyone. Lebanon Valley Dragway is a quarter mile track and most of what is run is on the quarter mile unless otherwise specified on the schedule. The Port-A-Tree 1/8 mile gamblers is open to anyone who wishes to compete in either no-box (non electronic) or box (electronics) on the 1/8 mile.

Sunday followed with an awesome day of racing on Father’s Day (Happy belated Father’s Day to all the dads!)  with a completed day of points for the first time in a couple of weeks along with a  great showing in the top dragster/top sportsman race as well as the other classes totaling over 250 cars in attendance.  

Now… here’s something to consider with I-Phones and Watches.  Did you know that if you are standing by the water box and someone is doing a burnout, there is a chance that your watch will go into alarm mode and call for emergency services? Did you know that if you carry your I-phone in your race car there is a chance it will dial for emergency services if it rattles around just enough? Think about it. It has  happened. Twice now.  So maybe, if your watch or your phone is set to emergency crash notification, consider changing it at least while you’re at the track.

Onto the race results for the weekend and there’s a lot!

In the Junior Dragster Summer Series race, Annastasia Watson from Middle Grove, NY took top honors over Mason Varin of Coventry, RI. Joey Foster of Cortlandt Manor, NY finished his day in the semi-finals.

In the Port-A-Tree No Box 1/8 race, Geno Picozzi of Warwick, RI took home the trophy when he defeated Chris Lofgren of Schuylerville, NY. Keith Varin of Coventry, RI  finished his day in the semi-finals.

In the Port-A-Tree Box 1/8 race, Elizabeth Finkle of Bangall, NY took home the trophy when she defeated Stephen Pray of Berlin, CT. Dave Henry from Ballston Lake, NY and Mark Beaton of Torrington, CT finished in the semi-finals.

On to the Orient Express Bikes in the Valley. It was their first race of the season as the first one was a rain out. Taking the trophy in the 9.2 Below category was Duke Huyck of Valatie, NY when he defeated Adam Sheran of Blandford, MA. David Ducharme of Lisbon, CT finished in the semi-finals.

In the Bikes in the Valley Pro ET category, Bob Bradley of Fort Edward, NY defeated Duke Huyck of Valatie, NY in the final round. Adam Sheran of Blandford, MA finished in that category in the semi-finals.

Finally, in the Bikes in the Valley Street category, Desmond White of Springfield, MA finish in the top spot when he defeated Jonathan Tisdale of Napanoch, NY in the final round. Flloyd Appleby of Delmar, NY and Bob Bradley of Fort Edward, NY finished in the semi-finals.

On Sunday, June 21, 2026, Foley’s Garage sponsored the Summit ET Day of Racing with surprise bonuses in Super, Pro and Motorcycle.

In Super Pro, Geno Picozzi of Warwich, RI took the win over Tom Flenke, Jr of East Hampten, CT. John Ringuette of North Attleboro, MA finished his day in the semi-finals.

In Pro Eliminator Paul Lattarulo of South Windsor, CT took the win when he defeated Billy Kirpens, Jr of Pittsfield, MA. Lucas Verenini of Albany, NY finished his day in the semi-finals.

In Motorcycle/Sled ET, Shawn Rainey of Waterford, CT defeated Francis Supczak of Ware, MA in the final. Jeff Tisdale of Reddick, FL and Jonathan Tisdale of Napanoch, NY finished in the semi-finals.

In Junior Dragster, Mason Spinelli of Latham, NY defeated Giuseppe Porfilio of East Longmeadow, MA in the final round. Hudson Bleakley of Carnel, NY and Billy Foster of Cortlandt Manor, NY finished in the semi-finals.

In Junior Street, Colin Morin of Chicopee, MA took the top spot when he defeated Gavin Russo of Norfolk, CT in the final round. Ryleigh Morgan of Ballston Spa, NY finished in the semi-finals.

In the largest Open Trophy class this year, Jim Brown of Clinton, CT took top honors when he defeated Chuck Geroux of Greenwich, NY. Justin Cunhan of Fishkill, NY finished in the semi-finals.

In Top Dragster/Top Sportsman, Brian Hansbury of Ballston Spa, NY took the trophy when he defeated Amanda Langenbach of Wynantskill, NY in the final round. Dick Copertino of Torrington, CT and Austin Lobban of Rensselaer, NY finished their day in the semi-finals.

The upcoming next two weeks are going to be jammed packed with the best drag racing in the northeast. This week on Friday, the Night of Fire will be taking over the track. As typical, the weathermen/women can’t make up their minds but the rain possibilities keep changing to less and less.

This weekend on Saturday, we will start the pre-divisional weekend racing with the wheel standing, side by side action of the All Star Stock/Super Stock Association for two days along with the Northeast Super Street 10.90 Index racing as well as open test and tune on Saturday. Sunday will be the next Summit ET Points race sponsored by Innovative Performance along with the All Stars and NESSA.

A reminder, there will be no racing on Wednesday, July 1 as we will be open for parking for the NHRA Division 1 race that will be held from Thursday to Sunday. 

As a housekeeping note, ALL trailers, motorhomes, campers that are parked at the facility for the season, this is a blackout week where everything must be removed from the facility by the end of racing on Sunday, June 28. We appreciate your cooperation. Please don’t be “that” person.
