Wednesday Night Racing Returns with Side-by-Side Action at the Valley of Speed

After a week off from racing on Wednesday nights, the racers were back at it with some awesome side by side action on July 8, 2026. The weather was great, the track was awesome and everyone got the passes they wanted.

Wednesday nights have become popular with those who wish a few quick hours of testing. Racers usually get a minimum of 3 passes in the test and tune lane which is open to slicks or street tires. It’s not a bad deal for $30 if you’re close.

Then there are the competitive street classes. Sportsman ET was once again dominated by Billy Kirpens Jr of Pittsfield, MA who took home the win for the third race in a row. He defeated Missy Billetts of Rensselaer, NY in the final round. Marty Melanson of Meriden, CT finished his night in the semi-finals.

In Street Stick, Vince Berzal of Saugerties, NY defeated George Manolis of Danbury, CT in the final round. Patrick Guida of West Boylston, MA and Mike Reed of Sharon Springs, NY finished their night in the semi-finals.

The Pure Street Motorcycle class has seen a bit of a growing spurt. Duke Huyck of Valatie, NY defeated Chris Cunningham of Nassau, NY in the final round. Larry L Hoyt Jr of Elizaville, NY finished his night in the semi-final round.

Then there is Street Trophy which is an awesome class for those who want to tap the bracket racing pool with a toe into the racing game. Steve Larsen of Hopewell Junction, NY took the top spot when he defeated Glenn Koblenzer of Schenectady, NY. Ed Cooper of Conway, MA finished his night in the semi-finals.

Watch the weather and come on out to  the next Wednesday test session and street class competition on July 15^th. Gates open at 5pm with racing beginning at 6pm with the sportsman class. Be at the Valley of Speed by 7:30pm if you want to make a pass. See you then!
