Rain Can’t Stop the Racing Spirit at Lebanon Valley Dragway

The weekend report on events at Lebanon Valley Dragway for the weekend of Friday, July 17, 2026 through Sunday, July 19, 2026 may be a little short but sweet. Friday started out with an open track rental test session sponsored by G&J Autobody and the NE Mopars.

Track rentals are unique in that they offer the opportunity to put the tires to the track during a time when the pace is on you, the racer. Make one pass, make many passes. You set your own pace on a fully prepped track surface. And let me tell you, these guys have been busting their butts to give you the best track conditions possible.

Which brings me to Saturday. We started out good with the next race of the Orient Express Bikes in the Valley and were able to get the qualifying sessions in and the first round of competition of Bikes in the Valley Street and Pro. Then the rain came.

Like I said, the guys and gals work hard to get the track as best as it can be and while everyone was hiding out from the rain, they took to the track and worked the day away in the rain, scrubbing, washing, scraping. Thanks to their perseverance, the track was in tip top shape for Sunday’s race.

On Sunday, Laureyns United sponsored the Summit ET Points race and it was a great day of racing with $3,000 guaranteed to win Super Eliminator and Pro Eliminator. The points races are tightening up and with only a few more to go, it’s going to be an awesome battle.

In Super Eliminator, Kevin Billetts Jr of Rensselaer, NY took home the top prize when he defeated Geno Picozzi of Warwick, RI in the final round. Bob Carlson of Torrington, CT finished his day in the semi finals.

In Pro Eliminator, Joe Coss of Burlinton, CT took home the big prize under the watchful eyes of his sons who compete in the junior dragster division when he defeated Shawn Nichols of Marlborough, CT. Joe Grasso of Higganum, CT and Michael Scribani of Howes Caves, NY finished the day in the semi-finals.

In Motorcycle/Sled ET, Jonathan Tisdale of Napanoch, NY took the top spot when he defeated Shawn Rainey of Waterford, CT in the final round. Adam Sheran of Blandford, MA and Desmond White of Springfield, MA finished their day in the semi-finals.

Although the Junior Dragsters were not running for points due to the NHRA Eastern Finals in Bristol, Tennessee, they indeed had an awesome race. The final saw the Foster brothers of Cortlandt Manor, NY duking it  out with Billy Foster defeated Joey Foster in the final round. Dylan Coss of Burlinton, CT finished his day in the semi-finals.

Junior Street also saw a family affair in  the final round from these two brothers from Manchester, CT. Colton Couture took the top spot over John Couture in the final round. Ryleigh Morgan finished in the semi-finals.

In Open Trophy, Jeff Cross of Nassau, NY took the top spot when he defeated Carly Charron from Hebron, CT. MaryAnn McCauliff of Enfield, CT and Jim Brown from Clinton, CT finished their day in the semi finals.

It looks like the upcoming weekend will be filled with some great racing beginning with a test session on Friday from 5-10pm with special attention to radial and slick preparation. Saturday we will host another day of open testing along with the Central Mass Drag Racers, NODRAMA and some ¼ mile gamblers races in both box/electronic and no-box/non-electronics. On Sunday, we will be hosting Import Face Off with an awesome show of imports both with a car show and drag racing.
