NETO, NODRAMA, Gamblers and Bikes in the Valley Results from Sat., August 17, 2024

What a day to see some great side by side racing action along with some testing and tuning when the North East Timing Organization (NETO), the Northeast Old Drag Racing Racers and Musclecar Association (NODRAMA), Orient Express Bikes In the Valley along with some quarter mile gamblers races in electronics and non-electronics took to the dragway.

The Orient Express Bikes in the Valley 9.2 Below class saw Frances Supczak of Ware, MA defeat Matt Gazaille, of Putnam, CT. Ryan Beardsley of Derby, CT finished in the semifinals.

The Pro Class in Bikes in the Valley was won by Ryan Beardsley of Derby, CT when he defeated Bob Bradley of Fort Edward, NY. Ed Johnson of Naugatuck, CT finished his day in the semi-finals.

The Street Class in Bikes in the Valley was won by Duke Huyck of Valatie, NY when he defeated Bob Bradley of Fort Edward, NY. Desmond White of Springfield, MA finished his day in the semi-finals.

The Northeast Timing Organization had a special day when the two winners of each of their classes got to run against each other for a special Wally.

The winner of the NETO Nostalgia class was Frank Paradiso, Jr of Marlboro, NJ when he defeated Dan Bednaz of Vernon, NJ. Alan Dwy of Poughkeepsie, NY finished his day in the semi-finals.

The winner of the NETO Comp class was Brian English of Norwalk, CT when he defeated Sal Lombardo of Point Pleasant, NJ. Vinny Laurita, Sr of Lagrangeville, NY and Jeff Donnelly of Newfield, NJ finished in the semi-finals.

That left the special final between Frank Paradiso, Jr and Brian English. Brian took the win for the special Wally.

As an addition to the day, gamblers races were run in both the non-electronics and electronics classes on the quarter mile. Sammy Alleshouse of Greenwich, NY won the Non-Electronic Gamblers when he defeated Paul Lattarulo of South Windsor, CT. Geno Picozzi of Warwick, RI finished in the semi-finals.

In the Electronics Class of the gamblers races, Tom Flemke, Jr of East Hampton, CT defeated Dayna Sawchyn, of Norwich, CT in the final. Rick Bergeron of Burlington, CT finished his day in the semi-finals.

And from Jason Heintz, here is the report on the NODRAMA race.

"The NODRAMA caravan was back at LVD for event #7. It's go time as we entered the back half of the 2024 season. The movers are moving and the shakers are shaking. Weather has been great to us this season putting another 38 on the board and 6 rounds to get to the Winner's Circle. In a day of over a dozen .00x on the tree, competition if getting serious.

Meeting in the finals was Mike Charron driving Mad Stash vs 2x NODRAMA Champion Jeff "The King" Kraenzle in a brand new ride for 2024, 1st time out in, The Stolen Charger. Hat Tip Wizeguy Neil Zimbaldi. Another first time NODRAMA winner, Mike Charron defeated Jeff Kraenzle to take home the gold.

With the win, Mike has broken into the Top10, while Jeff jumped a HUGE 4 spots into #6. Last event winner Bill Smith, after jumping 4 spots, another deep round day gave way to another 2 spot leap, cracking into the Top3 and knocking on the door of Ritchie Evan DeGraff holding on to #2. The old saying of consistency wins championships... Kevin "Just Kevin" O'Brien went for another 4 round day and has officially put a gap on the field. I have a feeling this is going to be THE MOST exciting homestretch to a season we've ever had.

UPDATE: We've had a scheduling update to our 2024 season. Event 9 slated for 9/14 has been removed from the calendar.

Next up for NODRAMA is another important bookmarked race date. Event #8 on 8/31. Our official new-member cutoff is upon us. Anyone interested in running with NODRAMA in 2024 MUST commit at this event, with all dues paid in full to run the remaining 5 events this season. No new members will be accepted into NODRAMA after this event. See you there! We open up the membership again in prep for the 2025 season at our official season ending/champion crowning/season beginning banquet always on the books sometime in February (2025). Stay tuned..."
