Another Action-Packed, Weather-Tested Week at Lebanon Valley Dragway

What happened this week at Lebanon Valley Dragway? Well. Let’s start with Friday, June 5, 2026 with a track rental that was well attended even though the weather forecast was worse than a rollercoaster. Saturday, we hosted Central Mass Drag Racers, Tailgater Nationals, held the next series date of Port-A-Tree Gamblers races and beat out Mother Nature to get the racing done.

Later, on Saturday afternoon the track was pounded by heavy rain, hail and wind that made the scoreboards invisible from the tower as the skies opened up. Funny thing was, the Lebanon Valley weather vortex must have kicked in because less than a half mile from the track it was perfectly dry and yet two miles in the other direction the area was without power.

Sunday was another unfortunate non-finish on the race day. We made it through a full second round and were at the beginning of third round of Pro Eliminator when once again, we got wet and racing halted for the day.

It has now been two weekends we have tried to present some really nice trophies to the winners of the Summit ET classes and it has been met with failure. We will try it again this coming weekend on Sunday, June 14 to give the winners of Super and Pro Eliminators some very nice silver Wally trophies as long as Mother Nature steps aside and lets us finish.

Wednesday night street night was a hot and humid experience. The weather forecast was for storms and guess what? Nope. Nada. Nuttin. So those who stayed home, you missed out.

The results for Saturday’s racing for the Port-A-Tree No Box 1/8 Mile race was LG (Grant) Nichols of East Hampton, CT winner over Bill Rogers of Hudson Falls, NY. Nelson Belot Sr of Dalton, MA finished his day in the finals.

The winner of the Port-A-Tree Box 1/8 Mile race was Shawn Nichols of Marlborough, CT who defeated Dominic Demicco of Kingston, NY in the final. Tom Couture of Enfield, CT and Alan Kirby of Granby, MA finished their day in the semi-finals.

The winner of Central Mass Drag Racers was Tim McHugh of Orange, MA when he defeated Keith Varin of  Coventry, RI in the final. Peter Kavalorek of Worcester, MA finished his day in the semi-finals.

That brings us to Wednesday's Street Night. In Sportsman, Billy Kirpens Jr of Pittsfield, MA defeated Joe Coss of Burlington, CT to take the win for the evening. Don Ward of Rensselaer, NY and Nelson Belot Jr of Richmond, MA finished their night in the semi-finals.

In Street Stick, Mike Reed of Sharon Springs, NY defeated Vince Berzal of Saugerties, NY. Mark LeBlanc of North Smithfield, RI finished his night in the semi-finals.

Pure Street Motorcycle was won by Bob Bradley of Fort Edward, NY when he defeated Adam Sheran of Blandford, MA in the final round. Larry L. Hoyt, Jr of Elizaville, NY and Charlie Bubka of Manorville, NY finished in the semi-finals.

Street Trophy was won by Jeff Cross of Nassau, NY when he defeated Steve Larsen of Hopewell Junction, NY in the final. Mark Reed of Canajoharie, NY finished his night in the semi-finals.

Now it’s on to some bigger events to mark your calendars for at the end of the month. The Night of Fire is on Friday, Jun 26 followed by the NHRA Divisional Event from July 2-5.

A reminder to all those who have trailers/campers/motorhomes parked for the season at the track, they all must be moved by the end of racing on Sunday, June 28 so that the pit area may be cleared out for parking for the divisional event.
