A Familiar Start: Rain, Resilience, and Racing at Lebanon Valley Dragway

My goodness. I feel like this is a repeated broken record for the beginning of the racing season at Lebanon Valley Dragway in West Lebanon, NY.  We lost our first Wednesday night to rain. Then the tale of the weekend. Once again, Friday was great; Saturday was reserved for ducks and then Sunday was a great day for racing. This is not the repeat performance that we were hoping for, but it happened….again.

Friday, May 8, 2026 was the first of two track rentals sponsored by the 13203 in memory of NHswaps. The track was great and racing was fast. They will host another rental at the end of the season.

Track Rentals are a great time for racers of all levels to come out for some track time to test their cars at a leisurely pace. There are plenty of Friday rentals coming up so check the schedule for the dates and times.

Saturday may have been rain on the outside, but the track crew was busy tending to maintenance of equipment and projects. Once the rain lessened, they took to the track to start preparations for Sunday’s racing on Mother’s Day. Which brings me to the results.

On Sunday, May 10,  Mother’s Day (Happy belated Mother’s Day to all the moms out there) we held the second Summit ET points race of the season sponsored by Accurate Transmission.

Jamie Dymond of Kerhonkson, NY took top honors in Super Eliminator when he defeated Shawn Nichols of Marlborough, CT. Mark Beaton of Torrington, CT finished in the semi-finals.

Mike Charron of Hebron, CT defeated TJ Gennett of Portland, CT in the final of Pro Eliminator. Jonathan Gagnon of Pleasant Valley, CT and Grant (LG) Nichols of East Hampton, CT finished in the semi-finals.

Jeff Tisdale of Reddick, FL defeated Shawn Rainey of Waterford, CT in the final of Bike/Sled ET. Adam Sheran of Blandford, MA finished in the semi-finals.

Guiseppe Porfilio of East Longmeadow, MA defeated Hudson Bleakley of Carmel, NY in the final of Junior Dragster. Avery Davis of Petersburgh, NY finish in the semi-finals.

John Couture of Manchester, CT took top honors in Junior Street when he defeated Colin Morin of Chicopee, MA. Gavin Russo of Norfolk, CT and Ryleigh Morgan of Ballston Spa, NY finished in the semi-finals.

Carly Charron of Hebron, CT took the trophy in Open Trophy when she defeated Samuel Ibbitson of Old Lyme, CT. Zachary Bleiz of New Lebanon, NY finished in the semi-finals.  As a side note, Carly won her trophy first and her father won his trophy in Pro later in the day making it a “two for” for the Charron family.

Crossing fingers on the upcoming weekend with a schedule open test session on Friday from 12-5 with the gate opening at 10am. There will also be drifting on Friday afternoon with gates opening at 2pm and that event will be rain or shine.

Saturday looks to be a busy day with the All Star Stock/Super Stock  Racing Association (ASRA) making an appearance at Lebanon Valley for the first time in 2026, the Northeast Pro Stock Sleds as well as a Port-A-Tree 1/8 mile gamblers race in Electronics and Non Electronics.

On Sunday, we will have the Summit ET Points third race sponsored by A&C Performance as well as the return of the Northeast Pro Stock Sleds for day two of racing.

Just as a reminder, Wednesday May 20, according to the original schedule, there was supposed to be Street Night and test and tune. However, due to a conflict of scheduling, the Dragway will be closed as there is an event scheduled at the speedway. The next Wednesday night will be May 27.

Full results from Sunday, May 10 is as follows:
