Questions

How long have you been drag racing?  13 Years

How did you get your start?   Went to watch one day with my uncle Tim Tassmer

What’s been the biggest challenge to your racing program this season?  Compared to last season?   Getting that darn red light to stop coming on at he bottom of the tree.

What would you consider your biggest accomplishments as a racer?   Having people recognize that I’m doing the best I can with what I have.  And having 2 ten-year-old kids come up to me and ask for my autograph.

What’s gotten you hooked on the drag racing scene?   The competition and the fact that the drag racing community is just one bug family.

What are your plans for the future?   Get the Camaro that’s sitting in my garage ready to do some serious racing.

What advice would you give to someone looking to start out?    Watch and listen to everyone that takes the time to give you some advice.   You don’t have to be fastest and craziest to win.  Make sure you have as much fun as possible at all times.

Who are your biggest friends (or enemies) at the track?   Tim and Stu Tassmer, Henry Huart, Dave Marone just to name a few.

Who do you fear having to see at the starting line?  Why?  Russ Wilbur, especially at King of the Hill.

Very briefly, tell me the dumbest mistake you've ever made at the race track?   I always look at the LED to check my dial and my opponents dial so I have an idea of where I stand before the start.  I misread my opponents dial thinking that a 18.56 dial was a 13.56 dial. I was dialed in at 15.00.  A lot of things go through your mind in 3 seconds.

Anyone you’d like to thank, wives you HAVE to thank, other things not mentioned you feel are important?   Thanks to my girlfriend Tina, my mom and dad, Tim, Stu, Henry, Dave and Jim for getting me hooked on this stuff and finally anyone that took the time to come up to me and shake my hand after a race no matter who won.

What music do you listen to?  Who’s your favorite?   Anything load and fast, also Jimmy Buffet as long as I have a drink in hand.

Any nick names for you?   Dakota Dave

Do you have any pets?   None of my own. But I have an adopted Min-pin name Nutsee.

Do you have Kids?    2 step sons

What do you like to do as a hobby outside of drag racing?  Coaching baseball

What track do you dislike the most?   Haven’t found one yet

Which is your favorite track to race on     The one I’m racing at.

Do you have a lucky charm?  What is it?    A V-8 emblem from my old truck in my console.

If you could meet anybody you wanted living or not who would it be?  Why .   Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Any additional comments?
